J. Espinosa is a Nuyo-Dominican photographer raised in the Bronx, New York by parents from the Dominican Republic.
His documentary work captures how poor & working-class people are affected by social issues like disability, racism, poverty, inequality, and immigration. He aims to document the resilience, resistance, and resolution of people who have been used, abused, and forgotten by the system.
Espinosa has been published by Riverdale Press, BronXchange, NPR's Latino USA, DePauw Magazine, Commune Magazine, GroundTruth, and La Galerìa Magazine. His clients have included Magrino PR, Matte Projects, Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, Northern Manhattan Immigration Coalition, Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute, Bronx Art Space, Jazz Foundation of America, The Peace Poets, and ASPIRA NY.
